Mahli Michael is a native New Mexican who grew up in the mountains located just east of Albuquerque. She graduated from New Mexico State University in 1993 with a double major in Marketing and Business Information Systems and then spent a year in Dallas as a software programmer. She then moved to Philadelphia and worked as a Research Assistant for the Department of Neuroscience doing research on spinal cord injury and spinal cord regeneration before starting PA school at Philadelphia University in 2002. After graduation in 2004, she and her family moved back to New Mexico and began working for the University of New Mexico Hospital in the General Surgery department for a year and a half before joining the Plastic Surgery group for the next 3.5 years. After her husband finished his fellowship in Rheumatology, she moved to Las Cruces and began working for Las Cruces Orthopaedic Associates in September 2010. She is an important member of our health care team.
